Holiday Open House 2012

I would like to give a big thank you to all who attended our Holiday Open House at our new location and made it a big success!  Many ornaments were stitched up to donate along with a basket full of soaps, shampoos and personal supplies.  We will be delivering them to the Good Samaritan Home this week.  Thank you to Suzi B. for the inspiration.

Happy Holidays!

Making a Star Quilt using Foundation Piecing

At the beginning of the year, I made a New Year's resolution to get rid of piles.  In sticking with my resolution, I've decided to create a foundation pieced star quilt with some of my stash pile.  I am new to foundation piecing.  I've tried it once before with minimal success and have decided to give it another go around. My quilt pattern is inspired by Beverly Dunivent's, String-Pieced Star quilt as seen in a older quilt book called, "Quilting Workshop" from Chitra Publications.  Here is a picture of 1930's themed fabric from my stash to stitch up.  Here I sew...

Lily's Birthday Party

Lily brought her friend's to celebrate her birthday party.  They created beautiful bird house of reused and recycled materials.  Each one of the houses were unique and reflected the girls individuality.  What a nice party to host.

A Day at Twigs and Twist

Today, the weather is final warming up.  We have had the front door open all day.  How wonderful it is to hear the birds singing again and to have a slight breeze come through the shop.

Some happenings today: Virgil stopped off to give a glimpse of an incredible quilt he made.  Areille stitched up some small make-up bags for teacher's gifts.  Our display was tweaked.  Aren't the colors beautiful.  Kathy from Garden Street dropped off a darling little bear she just finished creating and is for sell.

Looking forward to seeing what comes through our door tomorrow!
